Community Groups

"Let us consider how we may spur one another on to love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another - and all the more as you see the Day approaching." (Hebrews 10:24-25)

Christians have always found meeting in smaller groups essential to growing in their faith. Such groups give opportunity to get to know and support others properly, discuss and apply the bible to the specific issues each person faces, pray for one-another as we seek to live the Christian life, and consider together how to reach out with the gospel to others.

We term such groups 'Community Groups' in order to stress that they are to be mini communities within the larger community of Grace Church. In doing so, we have been particularly influenced by the book 'Everyday Church' and suggest all members read it.

We currently have six groups. Five meet on a weekly basis (except for when there is a whole church prayer meeting). The daytime groups are all female and accessible for those with young children in tow. The evening groups are mixed. The sixth group is run as a 'virtual community group' for those who just can't make a more regular one due to work or other circumstances. With this group, encouragements and prayer needs are shared on-line, and the group usually meets together once a month.

We encourage everyone who worships with us on Sunday to belong to a Community Group. If you do not yet attend one, do please contact us using the form on this website or call/text our minister Jon (07508394499) who will help you find one that best fits your circumstances.

Some are nervous of getting involved because they don't feel spiritual enough, outgoing enough or able to pray aloud. If that' s you, can we encourage you that many in the groups feel the same way? You will not be expected to do anything you are not yet ready for. We would just love to have you amongst us.
