SALT

SALT is our youth group for 11-18 year olds, we meet on Tuesday evenings during term time. Our Year 7-9 group meets from 6-7.30pm, and our Year 10-13 group meets from 7.30-9pm.

Each week we play some games, have some cookies and hot chocolate, and then dig deeply into the Bible, seeking to understand how it applies to our life and our world. We also pray for one another, for our concerns and joys, and seek to encourage each other.

Our aims in SALT are to treasure Christ and to make him known. We believe Jesus is the best news ever so we want to direct our lives to value him most of all. We want to be able to say with Paul that I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. (Phil 3:8). Not only that but we want to let others know how good he is.

At SALT, we’re convinced that the whole Bible speaks to our lives, so we’ve spent time together looking at, among other things, Exodus, Ruth, Philippians, Jonah, and The Gospel-Centred Life. We’ve also spent a whole year looking at the life of Jesus in Luke’s Gospel.

We want to make sure that our big questions are answered well! We’ve looked at the big questions like, ‘Do science and Christianity mix?’ and, ‘What about other religions?’ All of our leaders are very open and easy to talk to. Once a month we join with the rest of the church on a Wednesday to pray together. We also have socials quite often.

We love having people join us whether they’d call themselves a Christian or not. Please do get in touch if you’d like to know more, whether by using the form on this website or by calling/texting our minister.
